This season, if there is another, will be most definitely be a "newbstomp," zeebs. Players will lose interest if they have enough interest to show in the first place (and if this preseason match was any indication the forecast is cloudy) and that will be that. 20 players isn't enough for a league.

EDIT: Especially if half of them are on the same team.

The Strikeball community awaited one of the most anticipated matches of the preseason. At 10 Eastern the excitement had built up and both teams had prepared for an intense match. The first stumbling block was found whenever Preempt, Under_Score's leading assistant, was unable to be found. He sat afk in the arena while his three other teammates were desperately trying to contact him or find a replacement. The match was canceled and immediately after Quickball faced Metanoia as a replacement match. Metanoia won easily 25-5 against the young squad. Afterwards, Trunks_Rage appeared with a replacement for Preempt and the outlook of a match had brightened up. Both teams set their starting four in and the first round of play began.

After a lopsided first round, Metanoia led 9-4. During the halftime break, Trunks_Rage who had not been playing very well was unable to play for the second round. He left at halftime with an unknown illness. Some of Metanoia's players rumored that he probably drank too much before the match, and was sick from that. Trunks_Rage left the game at the half causing his squad to be short by one player.

Though the first game was a preseason match, it sure caused Under_Score quite a bit of embarrassment as they were unable to finish their first match of the preseason and league. One of the players on Under_Score, Mastakith-, summed up the night, "not good enuff, but its preseason." Indeed, if Under_Score comes out in the regular season the way they played tonight, they will have a true struggle on their hands against Metanoia. Metanoia won the game by default 9-4 against Under_Score bringing their preseason record to 3-0. Though this match did not live up to the hype expected, we look forward to another rematch between these top squads.

so we played quickball instead (score above in twerp's post)

so we won be forfeit

Lol :P, well there are basically 2 very talented squads, and the rest have a long way to go. It'll probably be very interesting to see which squad gets 3rd place, rather than 1st. There are/will be a lot of newbies playing in the league as well, so there will be some tough competition between them, so it should balance things out somewhat. Hopefully, everyone will find good competition for whatever level they're at.

any idea to the length and frequency of seasons so far?

im kinda new to the strikeball spiel...

what i took from that comment is that expect the first season to be a newbstomp? but since i think that im going to have a blast getting destroyed game after game... ofcourse i will play next season. i kinda like jasons idea... or at least the operators of this should try to make sure there are a handful of competitive teams instead of 2 or 3 teams that will compete and 6 or 7 that will get elbow dropped week in and week out. but hey, maybe it wont be like that and everything will be superduper.
