I don't disagree that their should be a new map but the new one thats come out i do not think is as much fun as the old map. Is there more maps that we can "try" or vote on trying?

How about you make each pub different?

One map here, another here, another here........And people can then decide.

Most publets, the people who actually care, don't have a forum account, and don't want to go through the pain of getting one or don't know how.

Why not just set up a bot in TW? Or something easier for the people who have never left ?go pub.

Personally I don't care. The old map, simplicity, is the essence that got TW started, but the new map is interesting. I started playing a little pub again, but it all gets old, which is something no one can fix when dealing with a 2d game. It's something that could be hosted, not necessarily permanent.

Either way we need to get more people to vote on it. :grin:

new style map but raise the population limited on either of the maps it gets so lonely in base even with 40 people (admit alot are in spec but i would like to see more people in one pub map).

People have suggested over and over to have at least 2 different pub maps - 1 old one for purepub, and 1+ new ones for variety.

Staff has responded that this simply isn't possible with the way pubs are set up.

Change the way they're set up so that this can be implemented? Nothing is too hard if you put in the time and effort to accomplish it.

I think a new map is a good idea. But not one that looks butt ugly. How about use some of the old maps....such as ?go flarebase or ?go kickbase.

Consider what you are talking about doing. Then realize PriitK is the only one that can do any such thing. And by only one, I do mean..."ONLY" one. Get back to me when you've considered that.

I've considered it. Did you consider asking? I don't have anyway to contact the guy, but yall DO. I'm just reiterating the fact that most people who've suggested any sort of compromise to the situation have suggested this change. I mean you guys have to contact him everytime the server goes down, right? throw the idea in there, that's all we're asking. Also realize, that we're trying to help w/o knowing any of the mechanics of what we're asking. Please take these suggestions as constructive criticism as that's what they're intended to be.

Fragmenting the publics isn't a good idea in my opinion. Things need to be consistent, consider the fact that most public players starting off have no concept of there being sub-arenas or even different public arenas. As mentioned before simply putting pure public into a sub arena was tried and failed. I like the new style map save for a few points that everyone here I think has mentioned (removing side entrances, random bricks ect..) and Unliked is still working on it the last time I talked to him. Increasing the population cap (40-45) also seems like a good idea.

This poll is a little disfunctional because it doesn't distinguish between the map, tileset or specific attributes of either, and I don't think your average forum goer cares or cares enough to give their detailed opinion unless it's simple. Thus removing even more people from the process.

If you don't have an understanding of the mechanics DankNuggets then inform yourself, the community runs this place. This forum has a lot to offer, get some map/lvz tools. If you have new ideas/changes or find defects with the bots submit a ticket: http://www.twcore.org. Very little these days limits your ability to effect basic change. I don't know everything about it either but we do have a lot of very knowledgeable people in this zone when it comes to coding, Continuum settings, map and LVZ work.

The only people who talk to Priitk if ever are Pure_Luck and Kim. We do need him to restart the server because he has physical access to it if for some reason it doesn't recycle properly. I don't think he has any interest in TW beyond funding and keeping the game server online.

I like an evolutionary trial map change for a PURE PUB.

Spawn in a safe zone

reduce the safe zone time to 10 minutes, then spec for 10 minutes,
then bounce the user limit hogger

Get rid of the safe zone at the 6 o clock

Reduce the ping and packetloss amount, kick the lagging cheaters

I like an occasional free decoy (or other specials) when I green alot

(I'm old schoool and liked the old flagging arenas with several bases)
