The reason im not bored of the game is because I play a new ship when I get bored of it, and also I only play twice a week :annoyed: . I started as wb, got bored at about level 25, so I decided to try get weasel. Got it, played it and terr for a while, go them both to about lvl 40, then got bored of them, played spid to level 20 and now trying to get my shark leveled up.
I can't see how people can play 1 ship to level 50 and not get bored. Try a new ship, or alternate between ships each round. You could have 5 level 30 ships instead of 1 level 50+

But I guess if you want me to be pseudo-ly constructive, I guess you could try make it so the bot won't ask the strong losing team to assist based on certain criteria (Your team has 2 terrs/sharks, something like that). Then it pretty much is your team's fault that you are stronger but still suck, or maybe it will make people play other ships.

In addition to accounting for terrs and sharks, maybe the asisst code could be modified to also accout for hold time. That way, if a team is weaker on paper, but still has >50% of the flag hold time that round, there is no call to assist.

You make a good point about a team deserving to lose, one that we talked about when coming up with a good algorhythym for "team strenght". Instead of relying soley on team strength, or modifying the calculation of it, it could also rely on the hold %.

pretty much. i mean people will get bored for different reasons, not trying to deny that. But for most of the complaints, they are bored because there's nothing new for them to try out.

Part of the fun of distension was getting to try out abilities that you couldn't use in TW (sharks with bullet, thor, etc). Now that people have tried them out, they are bored because there's nothing new.

If that's the case, you will always get bored because you are setting yourself up for failure. Eventually, everyone will max out everything.

That shouldn't be the only reason the game is fun. It's fun because it's trenchwars. It's a basing game, a soccer game, and a leveling game all in one. If you're only enjoying one aspect (leveling) then you're kidding yourself if you think there's any way to keep the game fresh.

One way to extend the feeling of new and exciting abilities is to play all of the ships. This is still chasing the dragon as far as I'm concerned, but it will keep you somewhat happy in the short term.

I don't understand why people only play one ship... especially when the team often needs people to change ships.

If you enjoy playing pub, base, strikeball, or any of the other similar arenas then you should continue to enjoy distension after you've "maxed" out your ship.

I enjoy playing pub just for the simplicity of it sometimes, and you could just as easily play distension like that (if you weren't blinded by your RP grind to "max" out your ship and upgrades).

Could also play for the basing aspect, to win a flag game. I also enjoy playing for that reason (why i shark when i'm 2 kill from upgrading on levi).

You could just like to overpower people and rape in a ship (why ppl like to play cloak/LT a lot). That's probably the easiest thing to do.

Basically, I'm just suggesting that you take it a little less seriously when you play. Don't get so upset that you didn't level up... if you must get upset do it because: 1) you suck and can't kill anyone, 2) your team sucks and can't win a flag game, or 3) everyone else is a laggot/newb

You guys sound pretty hagrid, like you've been playing this non-stop for some time now and need a break. I don't think you need to not play necessarily, but maybe take it a little easier when you do. Make it your goal to have fun, and not to simply rank up and unlock upgrades.

as a side note: the energy and recharge upgrades that's "all you have left to look forward too" were once the envy of everyone who played. that's one of the reasons qan made them automatic... b/c everyone bought them right away, and tried to get as much as possible. I wouldn't take them for granted, and I'd probably rather have them than the upgrades you've been playing so hard to unlock. Thor is nice, better recharge/more energy is even nicer as it's there all the time.

Huh? I haven't even unlock my Weasel and you guys are already maxing out???

I don't think "keeping the goodies for later level" would be fun for anyone.

Remember, the original Trench Wars went for years without "leveling".

Or maybe it's time for an EXPANSION!

What do you think we should call it? The Burning Burst or Wrath of the Weasel King?

So then play with your blue balls for a few sessions, then play a new ship.

I'll try to come up with a solution, because distension is starting to suck....

    1) Stop whining about EVERYTHING. Little things need to be changed, thats fine, but way too many people whine about way too many things. Team Balance, Teamkills, Rep Ignores, Eating, Too many Bursts, Soccer Game, overpowered, etc. Just SHUT THE FUCK UP AND PLAY FAGGOTS.

    2) The unique and highly special upgrades for each ship need to be pushed farther back into the levels, examples.....Levi's bombs, Terrs Regeneration, Weasels Cloak ability, etc. I'll give some examples why...

I got blue emps today, I have nothing else to look forward to except more energy/recharge, and prox bombs if I play every session from now until July. What is to keep me playing in my good ship? Nothing.
Peace maker has stated that his terr is pretty much maxed out, what's to keep him playing in his ship? Stabwound has already all but given up on HIS terr.
Now we have a weasel with bricks, what else does he have to look forward to? I'm not positive on this, but my guess is nothing.

I'm just saying, after the best upgrades get achieved, theres nothing else to play for. If we push those upgrades back a bunch of levels, at least I would keep playing to achieve that goal. Simplified, I would have played until I got blue emps at level 48, or level 65. My 2 cents.

roxx, and jngy: It's fun for you two cause you're always on the winning team. It's not so much fun when the losing team can't even fly up the tube without being bombed, mined, bulleted, emp'd, bricked, or bursted.

The ball game is fucking re-cock-ulous as well. Not only was I on the losing team, but durring the ball game, the winning team scored goal after goal because no one could get in to intercept the ball cause of bricks.

It's also not fun when you're actually on a winning team and the bot asks to assist and you get banned for it. [Like earlier today when TagMor assisted] If the winning team runs the risk of being banned for assisting, then why do you have the assist option in the first place? If I remember correctly the losing team had a terr, and the winning team didn't which is why he got banned?

The game is out of control lately.
