After having a talk with the deans, spacehiker and our new BanG Op Demonic, we have decided:

Trancetunes is a valued staffer, he has a drive that we need on staff. However his actions are not appropriate and need to be corrected. He has been put on a probationary period (Length undetermined but likely a month), in which he will be working on all the calls he takes with a long time moderator.

This will serve everyones purpose here.

Trance gets to remain on staff, and gets the training he wants to become a better staffer.
The playerbase gets accountabilty from its staff.

We have also brought back the 'head trainer' position and have placed Hurricane as the SMod in charge of this department. He will be working with deans and I on how to incorporate professionalism and proper knowledge into his department.

On a personal note: I want you to know that the upperstaff do see your complaints. Generally speaking one of my jobs is to be the PR guy for the staff. I am on this forum 3-4 times a day if not more, and bring any complaints to the rest of the upperstaffs attention.

I know these forums are the perfect place for you people to stirr things up, and cause confusion. However, you guys are indeed on a witch hunt here. You are so fully focussed on getting trancetunes axed that you are overlooking the bigger picture here. Trancetunes indeed does his job, at the beginning he has been overeager to prove himself and yes we have set him straight about that, and I have read every thread about him, how stupid they may have been sometimes. Some of your cases required talking to him and setting him straight and/or warning him. However, none of these alleged cases justified axing him in any way. Also, I think going on names similar to his and trying to piss him off so he will make mistakes is just plain sad. This has to come from both sides here, he leaves you guys alone unless you do something actually illegal, and you guys should just leave him alone and give him another chance. People grow up you know? I can name enough examples of current staffers who acted very immature in the past, but grew up and now serve staff and the TW Community to their best intentions.
Also, I only see you guys spilling your guts out on forums, if this is so 'important' then come straight to me instead of just posting new forum threads about him everytime something supposedly has happened. Thanks.

I took the time to analyze just one of the threads on this topic, the one named 'TranceTunes Again'
36 - total posts in thread
23 - total unique user posts
12 - total posts that were clearly in against TT
9 - total posts with unique user that were clearly in against TT
1 - total posts where user supplied an actual example of abuse

Perhaps this is why some think reasonable people feel that this has been a witch hunt, a very small minority of posts have actually supplied real examples of abuse/wrong doing. If people really desired to make a case against him I would recommend that instead of threads that encourage subjective opinions, compile a objective list of actual examples of abuse.
It is my opinion that a person could write a book on how NOT to get someone removed from staff by recording how this has been handled by you guys.

And I guess the last time staff talked with him and allegedly reprimanded him that was bullshit also since MM wants to use the word allegedly for this guys numerous cases of abuse that were supposed to be getting handled the time before he last 10 times.

I made it so you could make a poll and find out where the zone stood on the # thing. Your ban itself was a legit ban. It's similar to the rule 11 in TW.

However, having the poll made would stop the ban happening again.

I would like to disagree with this. I understand your position here m_m. This is a person who is very high in terms of quota count (which is hard to find these days), and you should always defend your people. On top of that people are being quite over-zealous about trying to get this particular individual removed from staff. However, what they are saying is not completely unfounded. In my brief experience staffing with Trancetunes, as well as a few other people that I believe I was open with my disapproval about, he lacks a necessary component of respect. It is something that you don't often get to see because of your well established position on staff and the fact that you can have these people's asses at the drop of a hat if you so choose. When I talk about respect I am referring to two kinds of respect: 1) respect for the people you serve 2) respect for those with whom you serve

Now the second kind is probably the one you see the least and is the more discrete case. Being one of the few staffers who didn't ever sleep and was always on during "dead zones" I would hear a lot of idle banter amongst the ranks in staff chat. To put it bluntly, all they do is bitch about eachother and defame eachother when no one is watching. I cannot count the number of times I have seen things such as: 6:Tranctunes> blah blah blah 8:Random staffer> omg if this guy doesn't shut up i am going to punch him in the face. such an idiot. The fact is that it happens and it goes untouched (I understand that there are many reasons behind this, so I am trying not to be hyper critical). Basically there are people who are looked at on staff as worthless because they do nothing, there are staffers that are looked at as worthless simply because they lack intelligence, and then there are the disrespectful ones. The problem with the latter is that it tends to leak out into the public sphere, whereas the two former are fairly self contained.

The first kind is something that I am sure you are readily aware of, being that you field the majority of complaints. Be that as it may, you are right in that these people are being over-zealous. Consider this: some of the top call takers have near 250-300 calls a month. Now in a month there are maybe what? 6 complaints about this guy? That is like 1-2% of that person's calls. So in general he has a 98-99% satisfaction rate. That is fucking amazing in most businesses. All of this said in his defense, I will state that TT, HMS, and Evildeed probably receive the most complaints from what I have seen. And it has been a constant thing since the moment I joined staff. Perhaps something needs to be SERIOUSLY done on that end.

My last comment is a suggested revision to staff protocol. There is a current rule that when you are off your staff name you are somewhat exempt from having to follow certain aspects of staff protocol. That should be removed. It just warrants people changing names to be complete dickbags during matches or spammers to people they hate. If you aren't professional at all times you are putting forth a bad image for the entirety of staff.
