Pandora had around 18:30 on the clock when the bot died. Both teams were in flagroom fighting it out as if nothing happened, this fr battle continued for another 45 secs to a minute (pandora was getting all this flag time). At this point Pandora then got the terr to warp out of the flagroom. Dice had another 30-45ish seconds left to get back from spawn (this is not impossible).

Also TW only dies if the entire community has that mentality, let's not make that the case.

A brief reading of the rules has netted this analysis:

THE APPLICABLE RULES:

6.01
If an unpredictable server crash, router failure, server lag, TWBot failure, or other event has a massive impact on a game in progress, the match will be cancelled and all current scores discarded. The game will then be replayed at a later time.

6.02 Resolved within 30 minutes
In the event that all technical difficulties are resolved within 30 minutes of the scheduled time period, the match will be played immediately.

6.03 Resolved after 30 minutes
If all technical difficulties are resolved after the 30 minutes of the scheduled time period, and if the game slots allow it, the match can be replayed immediately with consent from the captains.

6.05 Postponed Games & Available Time Slot
As long as it does not fall under rules 6.02 or 6.03, a postponed game may be replayed in an available time slot of the same weekend provided that all technical difficulties have been resolved and both captains agree on the game time.

ROUND 1:

The bot's timer was off, 6.01 goes into effect and thus the round needs to be replayed. The issue was resolved within 30 minutes under rule 6.02. Therefore the round being replayed was the CORRECT decision.

ROUND 2:

No problems. Pandora wins the round.

ROUND 3:

Bot dies at around ~18-11, 6.01 goes into effect and the round needs to be replayed. From my understanding the bots dying could not be resolved within 30 minutes and would thus fall under Rule 6.03. The language in the rule says to go ahead and replay the round "if the game slots allow it." Meaning, if there aren't any other TWL games scheduled for that time, go ahead and replay the round immediately with the consent of the captains. In this case, TWLD was supposed to start at 5. Thus, Round 3 should have been replayed at a later date amenable to both captains. Therefore, awarding Pandora the win was the INCORRECT decision.

Up until this point we have not entered fairness into the equation. Is it fair to have Pandora replay a round that they are in all probability going to win? NO. However, fairness is not encapsulated in the rules. It can be in the rules if placed there. Something along the lines of:

6.06 Staff at any time may make an appealable decision based on the facts and circumstances in the interest of equity.

This would allow staff to make the decision they made while being backed by the TWL Rules. As it currently stands, there is no precedent for the decisions made this past Sunday.

Before I conclude, I saw this rule being haphazardly thrown into the conversation:

7.05
All decisions made by the TrenchWars League Staff are final. There is no appealing a final judgment.

If you read the rules, 7.05 was put in place to only allow ONE appeal. In other words, after TWL Staff has ruled on an appeal, that decision is then final. It does NOT give TWL staff the general authority to make arbitrary decisions when they please (despite what some may think).

"Massive impact" is certainly a point of contention. This is where massive impact could be further defined in a different section or discarded altogether for a more descriptive phrase. In the interest of the integrity of the game, many would argue (and already implicitly do in their own neanderthal way) that a bot crash during round 3 of the TWLB Finals is massive.

I believe you have misunderstood me. 7.05 goes into effect WHEN an appeal has been initiated. Someone else in the thread quoted the rule in an effort to undermine staff's credibility.

As downfall just explained (someone who doesn't even like Pandora but thanks for being objective) pandora and dice kept playing as the timer went out for about a minute where pandora killed maketso (he didnt port i bombed him in his face, about 100 people should be able to confirm this). This gives Dice about 30 seconds to break a cram, it takes about 15 seconds to fly up, we could have essentially just sat on the flag.

You never seemed to mention this before, if this was the case you would have jumped at the opportunity to say it, and you are a huge biased moron so I'm not gonna believe you, no one should.. I believe maketso when he said he ported because I do think he is more honest than you nerd.

Also, you are failing to see that game 3 never should have started if cripple was in spider and Dwopple had to leave due to how long it took for staff to make decisions / bot errors.. you guys are talking about useless shit

Lol rise, i've said it several times, why do you think i keep saying we won round 3? Also dice doesn't have a god given right to absolutely have all their starters play in every round so all this nonsense about dwopple is irrelevant. I've said several times it's not pandora's fault dice didn't have a good third shark. They also lost with Dwopple the round before..(and Round 1 but that didn't count).
