      Getting rid of bursts makes terr more boring and easier to fly, lets be clear on this. Terr bursts account for a very reasonable amount of terr kills in any given TWL/D base match, and decreasing them will make the ship easier to fly since you won't have to ever worry about them from the opposing terr. and frankly rand, getting rid of the burst isn't going to change the importance of a shark keeping the terr alive. No matter how you want to package it, removing bursts isn't going to make it harder to fly terr.

        You claim that it would make the terr harder to fly without bursts : that's not true. Part of the hard work in terring is to try to imagine what the bursts course would be, and maybe dodge them if you have the attention for it. If we remove the bursts (and the shraps, it's the same principle), terring would be simplified, with less things to to, less options, briefly, it would make things boring.

            yeah something like that jonas,tho we never crammed during the game since we never got base.We got it near the end when wp warped out and we managed to keep it till the end.You guys were much better than us that game yes,no one can deny that.

              I agree, dont remove the bursts. IF u want to make it harder for the terr, then work on the sharks. As i said b4 they are the thing that makes the cram so strong, not 5 spiders. They are the thing that keeps everyone alive so long, not the 5 spiders. Its the sharks that are way to strong ina sence. Nothing else, so if u want to change something look @ the shark b4 removing bursts.

              I'd agree 100% with dttr also!

              As for the map, why dont we jsut (using fon's example) make the whole on the top smaller so no oen can fit through, but have them all away the way across the roof, or every so many inches or whatever. Make it so that a jav can hit the cram spot from all over on the roof. Make the jav useful from roof. Of course u'd have to use Suff's basing idea wehre roof is closer, but it would make the jav useful. Rite now the way the base is, u got 4 wholes for jav toshoot into base, they are all on the sides, and very very hard to hit the cram spot. (under flag) I find them useless. The only way a jav can break the cram is to wait for both sharks to mistime something, and w/ a good team that can take up to 5 minutes till that happens. THen he must aim it up the main enterence to kill them. He should have more options. Or open a few wholes in midbase where he can shoot up to the cram spot to. Rite now ur limiting a jav to 1 main shot to break cram, and everyone knows it. If u didnt do that tho, i think a smalle nterence on the top like that would or could be fun, but there could be some minor or major problems with it such as bz pointed out.

                I only read Randedl's initial post and there is too much text for me to read as of now.

                Let's look at Rand's perspective. His main basing ship is the WB where he kills enemy terrs. His reasoning behind all of this hides his real motive:

                He's pissed that he's bursted by enemy terrs all the time when trying to snipe them in WB.

                Muahahahaha the TRUTH IS REVEALED!

                (Someone might have said this in a previous post but I was too lazy to look at them so this thought might not have been as revolutionary as I thought it was going to be)

                  Here's my own slightly different perspective: The map's potential has been reached. All, if not most of the creative options w/the current basing map have been exhausted. Considering that it is a small basing map (compared to let's say DSB which has a huge map with 4 diff areas, or ASWZ which has multiple bases), it comes to no surprise that the "ways" of playing basing in TW have already been "discovered" and/or "used".

                  To me, the best thing to do would be to create a fresh map (doesn't necessarily have to be very different, but just different enough to allow creative differences/styles to develop).

                  Another option is to change the rules of the game (ie. pt race), which I believe is solely dependent on what the players prefer.

                  Finally, what I consider the most radical option is the ship setting change. This would affect not only TWL, but pubs and the whole TW zone. Even the slightest of changes will affect the entire TW zone. I'm actually fine with this option, as long as the admins, mods, and players fully realize the implications of tweaking the settings in minor or major ways. As long as they stay true to the original idea of 1-shot kill for wb, bomber idea for lev, transport carrier for terr, cloak/stealth for weasel, skilled bomber for jav, fighter for spid, def rep and mining for shark ... I'm fine with whatever changes are made, as long they are well thought out and tested and approved by TW players.
