because this is a new age of technology and everything is so radically different from the past you cant apply the pattern. there is a possibility of great change in the future. with all the technology and new 'culture', its as if we arent even the same species completely anymore.
People were thinking the same thing back in 18th century, 19th century and 20th century.

that is our hope
It is a bit pathetic if "hope" is the only thing we have.
If those bombs had gone off an hour earlier, during rush hour...
What does that say about the mentality of these 'terrorists'? that they are more interested in making a statement than killing people?(BTW watching the news I think It was funny that the bbc just called them terrorists, switching to the abc it took about 5 seconds before Al'queda was brought up. Theres more than one organisation capable of terrorism)
And I agree with what Telcat said: We'll continue killing ourselves. the only thing likely to change is the scale of death.

what? the 18th and 19th centuries and most of the 20th are nothing like today
this is the age of computers and the genome and biotechnology and the dawn of nanotechnology. now is as different from 1950 as 1950 was from the 17th century.
farris wheels, the train, and six shooters (19th century) are hardly high technology.
and comming soon is the era where we actually alter the human brain and the genome

Like as if computers and biotechnology can stop wars.
They can only make wars more efficient, and efficient wars means more things get destroyed, lives get lost during shorter time.

Science revolution started to take place back in 18-19th century. If science and logic can not change the world and stop wars, I do not see anything else will.

You are pushing the line. You will never be able to pass a law that allows un-consented altering of human brain or genetics, and I do not see anyone would allow you to change their own brain/genetics.
Though i've been very pleased with the positive, and level headed reactions the Londoners interviewed have shown. Guess some of the Blitz mentality lives on, a good thing in this case. Think they've shown great dignanty.
America are the ones to blame... America has everything to gain from a war on Iraq and Iran... If you watched the G8 thing, you would've seen how Bush was some what off, more so than usual...
Don't believe the media... We're fighting the wrong people...

Enough is enough, it is time we all start taking action. This bullshit has to stop, it is up to all of us to stop it. We can make it happen if we all care enough, but we have to act as single force, bringing our full weight down upon the wrongs that we are all being subjected to.
As such, I now propose to everyone the following action to make our world a better place. Everyone simply ignore Tone. Do not reply to threads he starts. Do not argue with him inother posts. If he posts, do not read them, simply move over them like they are not even there.
