I don't see what the big deal is with people who think they have real lives not wanting people to know they play a game online. But I guess if you're insecure about your social status you might feel the need to keep things a secret.

My parents and sister know that i play it, but they can't understand that it's an online game, although my sister thinks that when i play the game it takes up all the bandwidth and gets mad about me playing and making her internet slow..idiot.

I told two of my friends about it this year in university. One of em went to go see some stupid foreign movie with the rest of my friends, and a TWL game was on during that time. I decided to skip it. Later on the other friend that knows came over to my dorm to hang out. I was playing and he was disappointed he didn't come home in time to catch the movie. 20 minutes in after sitting there watching tv while i play twl he says to me:

"wait...let me think. Did you skip the movie because of this game?"
Yea. Its sad, my friend thought it was sad, laughed at me for a solid 20 minutes, then understood. hell, he was playing yu-gi oh.

two things:
- why would i bring up to other people that i play it? maybe i skipped the whole sms/msn/myspace generation, but i dont talk about computers/ online profiles/ etc with other people. so.. in my reality it would be quite weird to bring up about a game... so why would i then bring it up?

- im not playing this game while i have visitors, so its hard for others to know. when people visit me, the computer and television are off.

No, you're changing what you said. I don't give a shit what you do or don't actively tell people; I doubt Subspace would be the first thing I would tell a new acquaintance about too (and it isn't).
