• Ventriloquist will come and wreak havoc. Imagine Screaming Mantis from MGS4 but without the stupid suit and repetitiveness in the character's death sequence and story.

Really creepy, really dark, and angry. Really angry.

• I wish they would have used Zsasz more.

I would like to see Dr. Harley Quinn (that way they could use the Joker without using Heath Ledger), the Riddler, and Bane. Hush would be cool too. Mind you Bane is the man that broke the Batman. They could do the whole Knightfall storyline and have the Riddler go on TV because he misses Arkham. Also, someone mentioned Robin earlier. I read somewhere online that Nolan hates Robin and will never consider bringing him into the movies. He wouldn't fit in this universe anyway.

Who would play these villains though? As long as anyone big other than Vin Diesel or the Rock played Bane I'd be happy.

Matthew Lillard as the Riddler
Josh Hartnett could make a good Hush.
Zooey Deschnal or Ann Hathaway for Catwoman.

Suggestions?

• Personally, I would give anything to see Eva Green play Catwoman. But I can see it going to Anne Hathaway as well.

I honestly don't know any established actor that can play Riddler. I remember reading on IGN that the crazy psycho dude on Lost would be the best pick.

Troll King's right about that Mr. Reese guy, so I'll scrap that now. However, I disagree on the Joker not being able to be the main villain. I remember reading an article on IGN that set it up perfectly.

Let's work backwards from the Riddler first seen in Hush and currently found in Dini's Detective Comics: a man obsessed with 1) solving the mystery of the Batman; and 2) outsmarting the Dark Knight. For this, we're going to take some dramatic license with the character.

A PHD professor in Criminology and Forensic Science at Gotham University, Edward E. Nigma could work best as the GCPD's go-to man when it comes to crime's they can't solve. When Batman comes onto the scene, murders that once would have required lab tests, manhunts and consultations with Dr. Nigma now come to a close with the unconscious perpetrator gift-wrapped on Gordon's doorstep. Nigma grows obsessed with the efficiency of Batman's deductive skills, and since he has no way of following the Dark Knight's crime-solving process (after all, it's done in the Bat-cave), he sets up an elaborate mystery of his own for Batman to solve, one that sees him give into his deeply rooted pathology.

• Back to the movie...

From when i first saw the joker's character, i was amazed, i was drawn in from that point. It was simply amazing. And i agree about Harvey's character, well done as well until the shitty graphics, but he still was a beleivable character.

AMAZING MOVIE.

Do you mean the Riddler?

By the way, ladies and gents, I saw The Dark Knight for the third time in theaters. This is the first time I've seen any movie more than twice(and probably the 2nd or 3rd I've seen any movie more than once) on the big screen. I watched Christian Bale closely this time, and I've decided he played his part very well. However, the way he talks at the end still gets to me, especially when he delivers the line "you'll be in a padded cell." Also, the more I watch Maggie Gyllenhaal the more disgusted I become. This performance was really quite amateur, and she is most definitely the low point of this movie. One talented actor I had not previously noted was Nestor Carbonell(The Mayor). I think he did a superb job; I only wish it didn't look like he was always wearing eye liner.

A few things I picked up the third time around:
1. When Gordon reveals himself and captures the Joker, Harvey says to him "You really are playing this one close to the chest." I ate this up and swallowed it twice, but the third time I caught it. Gordon never says anything to Dent about "playing it close to the chest" throughout the entire movie. In fact, it is Bruce Wayne that says that to Lucius Fox when he is speaking of the military contract. Weird!
2. If you look closely and don't blink, there is actually a frame where you can see Two-Face nabbing Maroni's man that was supposed to be sitting in the back of his ride. Not all that special, but I had wondered how he got into that car the first two showings.
3. The majority of horrible lines in this movie were delivered by the SWAT van passenger during the convoy scene including nuggets of gold such as "That's not good... OKAY, That's not good!", "Hope you've got some moves", "I didn't sign up for this", "We'll be like turkeys on Thanksgiving down there", "What is that!? Obstruction ahead! Obstruction ahead!", "That's what I'm talking about!", and more... I would prefer to hear those lines delivered by Falco, Slippy, and Peppy.

Oh, and I completely agree with Troll King on Reese. Reese is easily intimidated, has the wrong last name, and owes Bruce Wayne his life; not a good candidate for a super villain.

Stayon> That type of thing, when you're married for 50 years but you know you fucked up when you dropped chilli sause on your elitist rich boss, while crossing the cafeteria's lunch zone, getting you fired, because you were distracted admiring the cleaning lady's ass that you beated off to, when your sluggish wife and two retarted kids were asleep.

• Just saw this movie tonight, great movie!

Almost everything about the movie was extremely well done. The only thing that was missing which my friend pointed out, was absolutely no use of the Batman's many toys in his utility belt. I mean they even show Bruce Wayne putting away his Bat-boomerang and ninja stars, but he never uses any of it except for his 'shoot the line to hit the building so he can repel' gun.

Ever since X-Men broke open the whole 'realistic seeming superheroes' thing back in 2000, we've had a ton of 'realistic' superhero movies (as opposed to the more ridiculous and not realistic Superman and Batman movies in decades past). I say 'realistic' as the recent trend has been for superheroes and the supporting cast to be more like 'real people' than simply comic book characters of past portrayals.

I have to say that with this and Ironman, we may have reached a high point for superhero movies... I just can't see these movies getting any better, and invariably with the saturation we've been having lately they will surely just get worse with each passing sequel. Sure there may be better special effects or something, but in terms of direction, acting, and stories, we've almost reached a limit of what the genre can handle, at least for another 20 years until societal attitudes change and want a new way to portray superheroes.

But a good candidate for Robin?

Maybe he's too old. Who knows.

• Only if Christopher Nolan wanted to make Chris O'Donnell look like an inspired casting choice.

Two characters that I think MUST be in the next movie, now that Gordon's been promoted to commissioner and the police are officially going after Batman, are GCPD cops Renee Montoya and Harvey Bullock.

no, no, no, george clooney lost all his rights to be in the new batman films. I like their current approach to get amazing actors but not necessarily the most known actors.

• Can you really blame Clooney though? I mean, I bet if Clooney was the Batman in these 2 movies, he would have looked 201597291518952x times better than he did.

• Just came back from the cinema (this was the third day of viewing here and packed full every time), and I totally loved the movie! (Yes, we always get stuff later)
Not many downsides to the movie, it totally takes you in and keeps you there. No stale scenes, nothing too predictable.
The justification for Dent to become psycho was a bit lame to me, he totally changed because his GF got offed by the bad guys he was fighting before? wtf
The bashing on Maggy here I don't understand, except for the scene where she interviews Lau her acting was good enough not to be visibly bad. IMHO she is also good looking enough for the role (I'd do her anyway). Major downsides were the lines of the SWAT cops in the movies, I hope those weren't in the script :<

The crowd was actually quite quiet, noone clapped, no American hysteria but everyone loved it walking out. Might actually get it on DVD was well B)

• SPOILERS:
The reason Dent went nuts isn't because of his loss of girlfriend, but because Batman saved him instead of her. She could have been saved, and he was willing to die for her knowing that those that would kill him would be punished, but that she died and saw the Joker still prevailing in the hospital made him hysterical.
