there was once a time when staff chat was for the purpose of staff issues only, and that was because of people like you and in order to avoid the above problem.

Actually there was NEVER a time like this. To be honest when I first joined staff back in late 1999 (a full 3 months after I started play TW thanks very much Volcs:P) staff chat was a lot less 'lively', but that could mostly be attributed to staff chat (or more correctly Mod and higher chat, as ERs were on a different chat) being mostly populated by males who were 20+ and were more 'all-business' than the rest. Still we had a lot of fun conversations.

This started breaking down when the ER chat was combined with the Mod chat in around 2000 when KJW and YoMama!!! took over as deans. Since then staff chat has been what it is... a lot of mindless spamming, with some important questions sometimes.
