Distension before TWL?

Well I'd much rather see TWD arenas packed with activity, players actually showing support for their TWL squad by getting TWD's as practice before their TWL match instead of minding their own thing in distension. I would see it as a better atmosphere to play competitively in rather than having players all packed up in distension, dragging their feet along to get to their TWL game. But this is only what I desire, and not all players wish to play TWD before their TWL matches. Some players might not even be in a participating TWL squad, so it hardly affects them.

The point which bothers me a little bit is that qan has affirmed certain instances where server/biller lag problems as well as full recycles are caused by Distension. Seeing as how distension still has bugs (kinda in a public beta phase currently) I would be quite disheartened and so would many other competitive TWL participants if there were any additional lag strain caused to the server before an important TWL match which can be resolved by just not playing it at that particular time slot for that one day. Its an event, just like any other in Trench Wars. Our staff have decided, and still stand strongly, that TWL is the highest level of competitiveness in our zone. If we are to maintain this outlook, then we should be a little bit more responsible with events such as these that have caused known problems. There are 7 days in a week. 5 of these days 10+ hours was the original schedule. It has since been up'd twice now in 3 days. Eventually distension will get its 24/7 run-time, but with a drastically decreased player capacity and arena capacity. As it stands, with too many players in there, it poses a real concern for server stability, and should be treated as one.

2 hours after the last TWL game ends is also off limits for weekend events and other special events.

Then go hang in twd instead of distension, its not like anyones trying to make you play distension or shutting down twd. Its called giving you both options so I don't have to watch disoblige get stomped in twl for the next 8 weeks or so.

So lets be patient. Lets be logical about this. And remember... The distensionites have given up over 50% of their fun for the zone. The least the zone can do for them is let them play when it IS the time.

TWL was here long before distension, why would everyone who doesn't play Distension feel obligated to those who do, like the "Distenionites" are doing them a favor by not crashing the server right before TWL?

You can have fun when it IS the time, just make sure that time isn't anywhere near TWL, especially if most of staff agrees that TWL is the highest level of competitiveness in the zone.

If you do the math. The schedule has been SLASHED over half from the previous one 55 hours. AND the one before that was very similar in length. its much less than was before all this started happening. We now have it hosted 26 hours a week MAXIMUM.

AND if you noticed on www.trenchwars.org, I did add a little asterick. We may not host it as I have posted. We have 4 Distension days before Sunday to see if Distension continues to cause server crashes.

I am being logical about this, but I have very little patience for someone who is an upper staffer in TW and honestly thinks that Distension is somehow above the level of play that is required in TWL. It's one of the worst atrocities this zone has ever seen, and the fact that you continue to hold on to this ONE time slot before TWL even with Me, Kim, LB, and other staffers and players who are much MUCH older than you is ridiculous and asinine. Im not asking you to change anything else on the entire schedule, I am just asking you to remove the ONE time slot before the most competitive and the highest point in TW, TWL. Now before you get all huffy because I know you aren't really good at TWL so you like to say "well who said twl is the high point of tw", let me just tell you I don't personally give a shit if YOU think that Distension is more important than TWL because it still isn't, end of story. The fact that a TWLB game got 102 players yesterday, and TWL-D Quake vs Heavy got 121 yesterday pretty much proves that this zone isn't being fixed by some automated RPG, its being fixed by TWL, and people who want to both play and watch these games. Just like has been happening since before you even played HMS. So I suggest you really listen to your elders here, and make sure that Distension isn't running before TWL the upcoming weekend, because although I am only an ER, I guess we can both see what I have the power to do.

As kim mentioned, I would like to see stacked TWD arenas instead of "Distension 54", "twjd2 12", "twdd 23", "twbd 30". Dont host it on sunday at all. kk thx.

dist should be hosted AFTER twl when all the ppl go afk n /wrists instead of before when twd arenas are filled up with games.

?go base and twbd are packed before TWL, and I figure it is similar with javduel/JD and wbduel/DD. Players already have active arenas to enjoy during that time slot, put distn afterwards or keep it away from TWL sundays altogether.

dist tends to crash the zone. It would not be beneficial to have tw crash or "recycle" when TWL is going on. Even after distension gets hosted it still causes problems.

Let me provide this as an example of of why distension shouldn't be hosted before TWL.

Earlier today I was hosting a hockey game and everything was fine, after distension was started however (towards the middle of my game) phases, and overall lag were raised quite a bit.

Please notice the almost constant - s2c weapons that were not present before distension was started. If nothing else changes your mind, obviously this should, and hopefully you aren't so avid about running distension that you are willing to have people lagging like they do above just because you have too much ego to step back and decide that it isn't a good idea to run the morning before twl.

I agree that distension shouldn’t run before TWL.

The reasons have all been mentioned here and I think we can all agree that they are well founded. The fact that the server has been more prone to recycles during distension times is notable. As is the fact that during the hours prior TWL most squads are trying to practice in TWD or minimally base/javduel/wbduel.

As was also stated before, most elite veterans log off after TWL is over. And most elite veterans also don’t play distension, with some exceptions. So, following this logic, I don’t see why not to schedule it from, say, 6-8 PM EST on the weekends.

The new schedule is pretty thrown together if you ask me, although I’m hoping someone actually put some thought towards this one. Either way though, as a person who commutes an hour to work every day and works a 9-5 job, I pretty much can’t ever play distension unless I want to sacrifice sleep.

which is why it no one's really arguing with this that I can tell (except for the fact that the schedule's not followed anyway).

REally, it makes no difference to me or anyone else who plays distension if it's hosted before or after TWL. Actually I'd like it to be after so I could actually play it. I didn't even log on Sunday, because I was under the impression that Distension wouldn't be ran on weekends.

You guys have already caused me to miss enough hosted slots, and that's why people are complaining at all-- because they're constantly being cheated of potential time playing distension. It's not a big deal if it's 2 o'clock or 8 o'clock, as long as it's hosted when you guys say it will be.

And what HMS said-- the schedule's been slashed already, we concede some playing time (which is a small fraction of what we want) to appease you guys, quit asking for more. I guess it's true, you give a mouse a cookie..

I'm almost certain that it still causes recycles- the only time I ever see that message whilst returning from afk is a time when it has been running. It's not meant to sound biased but there's fairly clear evidence it's the cause.

The server recycled yesterday and Dist hadnt been on all day.

90% of Vets.. waht is that like maybe 30 people? Most of whom log into TW a couple of times a year for TWL and otherwise completely ignore it?.. Yeh everyone else should cater for them..
