Unfortunately, Adblock seems to block the sponsored posts, which is unfortunate given the demographic that would be likely to try this game.

By the way, an organized effort to rank a post about Subspace on Reddit front page would probably do wonders for the game, seriously. There was another online game called Nestalgia that got on the front page, and exploded from like 20 players online to 500.

It would be cool to organize a "Reddit" day where we get a lot of people to register an account there ahead of time, and then on a scheduled date we make a Reddit post and get everyone to take part and upvote it.

It would only take a few hundred votes to get on page 1 of the gaming subreddit (I think) and probably at least a thousand to get on page 1 of the main site (I think). The gaming one would be easily doable.

Registering and voting can be done in like 30 seconds, max, and wouldn't cost a penny. I think being featured on Reddit would get a ton of players to at least try the game.

Any comments? I would be willing to help organize something like this if people think it would be worth it. I'm not sure if the game has enough people that would take part, though?

I'm in. This is the most cost-effective marketing idea. This should ideally occur after the website overhaul though. I know the TW player base is a few thousand, and if we could get even a few hundred of those to contribute, it would be well worth the 5 seconds it takes to upvote.

One other comment I had is that if we're serious about saving Continuum (and not just Trench Wars), why don't we pitch this to EG staff? They could make a similar post to their zone news and forums (I think they have forums?). If we got the EG population to upvote as well, that could be another couple hundred to push us higher.

Hello ladies and gentlemen. I figured since everyone seems so concerned about what's happening, I'd give a friendly update on the status of things.

1) Your donations were NOT SPENT on anything related to zenabee...or any weird shit like that.

2) If you go to http://www.trenchwars.org/donationdetails - you can see exactly what the money has been spent on.

3) The reason the money hasn't been spent so far, is because we are in the process of developing a new website for TW.
- The idea was that we would create a new (newbie friendly) website on the front, and have neat new features for players in the subsections of it. We would then launch an advertising campaign towards this new website to bring in new players. (In a nutshell).
-This has taken WAY longer than any of us expected. There have been stumbling blocks from day 1; from not being able to find a competent designer to being short on programmers. - Read my past forums asking the TW Community for any help they could provide. (Update on this - we finally have a good designer ready to go, and programmers are good as well).

4) As this venture has taken so much more time than expected, I agree with the general consensus that we definitely need to start spending some of the funds for advertising. (No, $5,000 will not hire a competent marketing team...but it will drain all the money away real fast and then we wouldn't have anything to work with) I appreciate the idea though.

5) Also, if you don't realize how the donation system works. When someone donates, they get to choose where those funds go. That being said, we don't have $5000 to use for advertising. (See the site above for exact amounts).

6) LF, I'm pretty sure MOST of your donations are for "charity", not advertising. That being said, if you would like to actually switch those funds over to advertising, webdev can have that arranged for you.

7) If you have a legitimate advertising plan, please feel free to contact me in-game where we can go over it; eventually having it approved by the man in charge - Pure_Luck.

am i the only person who thinks spiking the zone with hundreds of new players at once would ruin the game for all the vets? it takes years to get good at this game.

LOLS are you kidding bro? You of all people should know better....This game has a sensitive coordinative/talent-based prerequisite to it for the most part, you either have it or you don't. (This btw does impact player base and does play somewhat a role in why lots of people just don't stick around even after finding the game, since we are on the discussion) Thats why you see certain people play rather committed for 5 years and they are like an average pubber, while some take 3 weeks and are better than average already. For those who have it, a talented player can become a top wb within 3 months tops, and we've had quite a few of those over the decade. The rest aren't even worth considering as players. Aside from meeting that general prerequisite, this game takes nothing to be good at, takes a bit to be the best though. Anyone who struggled to get good at this game or took more than 3 months just isn't cut for it, or has assburgers..one of the two

yep the learning curve is huge...had to play hours a day to go + in dds alone...and even after those 3 years im barely even in twl loool, and all this cuz am da rookie of the year rememba dis...if you start this game now and want to play competitively forget about it

Hahaha awwww after everything we've been through back on Rusher 7 years ago...honestly though my points only pertain to players who are willing to be competitive at this game...any new players that come to our zone and want to play casual pubs and events etc I have nothing against and completely support..but you have to admit the new players that come and want to actually be good, if they cannot handle criticism or don't have some kind of motivation or ambition to get up there, or to prove me wrong, or can't take getting slapped around by derogatory remarks from their 'competitive peers', they really don't belong on the field and most likely don't even have the psychological capacity to not crumble under competitive pressure in the first place
