TWL Postponements

Maybe you should try not calling every person with an opposing view or different ideas here idiots. It works wonders on this forum, just something for the future.

I still don't see how a squad, not on a holiday, could NOT fit a single TWL game into their life when they basicly decide in the first place when the game happens and agreed when taking a TWL spot to participate in all league games or be removed. Still I can understand if it is a real holiday (not some stupid drinking day) but extending the league beyond 11 weeks is not acceptable nor is allowing many unnecessary postponments to the end goal of this league.

Of course TWL is about fielding your best but it is also about having your best organized and working together. If for example PL or Blood decide to skip town for the weekend should their squad use their "coupon"? I think that is what it will be used for mainly, not for legitimate reasons but to get out of situations squads should and do face. This is why I say only allow it during holidays because postponing TWL for random stupid things like missing players doesn't promote good habbits or a strong league and will cause more problems for both players and staffers in the long run.

You tell me right now, Kolar or anyone for that matter (sorry for picking on you Kolar)....why the following couldn't happen:

-f- schedules a match to play......Thursday Night instead of Sunday afternoon......or Tuesday night.

Not tryin to come down hard on you, but the rules are way too strict. Listen to what disq is saying. I wouldn't mind watching a few twl games DURING THE WEEK. Just like in hz, Both teams agree to the best time to play each match, Monday, Sunday, whenever.

The only problem I see with this is that TWLM will be ruined. BUT OH WAIT. GENES LIGHT BULB GOES OFF! - We (twl and its players) set up a boundry condition to when you can play your league match.....say from Thursday Noon (est time) to Monday 10 PM (est.). You don't need 6 days to pick a whole new team, 3 or 4 days tops if you really want analyse things, which in my opinion is stupid, get good in the game first.

But oh wait genes is too all-knowing. You see he knows these very smart, simple, and perfectly fine ideas WILL NOT HAPPEN....you know why my children? Because staff is too close minded and robotic.

(p.s.) Don't know where to put this, but this idea just got better. Now, more players will be watched performing in twl. On a given twl sunday, there are like 5 matches going on at once with 30 spectators in each. MY IDEA will allow for 80+ people to watch games like HEAVY vs Passion, and get their players more recognized as opposed to 5 people speccing on sunday when SYNDICATE vs DICE is playing and they are the only match that has more then 20 people speccing it.

Making TWL one or two weeks longer wouldn't be THAT bad though imho, since we only get TWL once a year anyways, why not make it a bit longer.

Hey all you finns out there, schedule your matches either on saturday, or early on sunday, so you can go after your last match (if they're all on sunday it's after 10.30 pm) to get pissed. The party's probably gonna last till the morning anyways.

But my original suggestion of playing all the matches on saturday should still work.

Theres always gonna be a majority of squads who will turn down a squads primary time just to see if they can stop people from showing up. What is the TWL op going to do when one squad schedules thursday 5 pm and the other schedules sunday 1 pm? Theres no real middle ground. It might be nice to have the option to play during the weekday as a player but then theres more scheduling whining.

1.) You could fix the website so you can have "good slots" which the other team can accept your wanted match time or "bad slots" which they can't

2.) Or .?message <Captain of other squad>: hey, Thursday 4-6 Est is good for us, Friday is not good at all, Saturday 2-4 Est, and Sunday any time.

Or you can talk to them in game. I don't think it would be hard at all to have a free range of match times.
-Trust me it will spice up tw and population in tw will grow during these match times on thursday and friday.

wasn't there once a TWL postpone for US national day or something? i could remember wrong tho but wasn't something said that there wouldn't be enough hosts etc blaablaablaa that time ... dont' remember which season it was tho and don't remember was there any other reason for the postpone too

First, settle down Genes. I don't run staff, I am not TWL staff. I am a Mod and I host TWL games. What I have to say is my opinion. Kim, Neth and PL will have the final/offical say on this. I think my position is the most unbias here. I don't run the league, I am not on a squad (TWL or otherwise) so if you say I should "think outside the box" I would say to you and others here that you need to look at the league beyond being just players.

TWL isn't hosted during the week. It's hard enough to get people and hosts on for the weekend, if we started throwing games all over the place the league again would be unstable. I know personally I wouldn't be able to do it, even over the summer with school work. It's better if squads are given a time frame and work out a deal with the other squad when they want to play. If it is a legit holiday then something like this i.e putting games on weekdays if/when it's worked out with TWL staff may work, or just putting them into week 11. If I could write my exams exactly when I wanted to I wouldn't be tested fully. I'm not saying it's impossible just that it isn't practical and wouldn't do anything good for the zone or league.

Disq is asking for an unreasonable postponments to the league and I've clearly stated how any type of ability to postpone the game would be abuse/used for the wrong reasons.

you euros are crying really bad over this 'american holiday that postponed twl'. first you say its thanksgiving, and now you dont even know. just give up, no one cares about your country's independence day or whatever the hell it is. If its postponed for finn day next its gonna be postponed for Kwaanza and yom kippur. w/e holiday this is is probably less important than arbor day ffs

It's not the independence day, it's the day when the whole workforce in finland gets drunk and runs around in the streets with their graduation caps on. (and it's probably bigger than our independence day )
