It's slightly funny you speak of the Suez Crisis, which was a conflict between Egypt, Israel, Britain and America (which for no particular reason claimed it was theirs). The Crisis was over the Suez Canal that has a great deal of money come in from ships going through the Canal. Nasser (Egyptian) took control of the Canal which was owned by the British. Nasser wanted a dam to be built and he wanted to British to pay for it, so he took control of the Canal. The crisis between Egypt, Britain, and Israel got to a boiling point and something had to be done. Lester. B Pearson proposed the UNEF (The United Nations Emergency Force) to respond to such instances where peacekeeping needs to be met.

The UNEF has responded to Rwanda, Egypt, South Korea and many other countries. The UNEF is bogged down my bureaucracy but it has helped countries fight genocide and work towards restoring peace in war torn climates.

Why should I know what the UNEF is

I guess you do what your told and shoot when your told, everything else is semantics. If you're going to be a drone and not question anything or understand the reasoning behind anything then maybe you should stop claiming that you're informed.
