Why is it so hard to believe people will fight for energy, food, and land? Most conflicts can be boiled down to the lack of the essentials of life. The small regions of the world where Russia/China and the West fight it out like Georgia are a result of such problems, energy and land (today more so about strategic positioning). For now reusable energy sources are not reliable enough today or in the near-term to replace oil, coal and nuclear technology as our primary energy sources.

The leaders of Al-Qaeda didn't wake up one morning and decide that the West was their enemy, the same goes for the Palestinians. there was a cause and effect relationship. We used them against the Soviets much in the same manner we're using the Georgian people against the Russians. There was no concern for their lives, their land, their politics, their religion or way of life. That's not an endorsement of their tactics but fundamentalisms doesn't spontaneously appear. There's always a reason it comes alive.

Most of the conflicts around the globe are still because of religion and ethnic differences (that also involve territory conflict). Only Anti-Bush Americans think its about oil all the time. Last time I checked, the prices of oil before Iraq invasion were lower.

Besides, Isn't it much cheaper and smart to actually boost the development of non-oil energy, like hydrogen and electricity engines?

I think everyone is missing the part where Russian planes "accidentally" missed a target and took out one of the largest oil pipelines in the vicinity. The plot thickens.

it's not so much the bush administration, but rather the oil companies who wish to keep all their profit in tact rather than submit to other non-oil energy resources.

Religion and territory are only tools used to spur the people into fighting, the true agenda is for the resources that are gained after the war is over.

I don't care what you say about Israel, I just found it funny that you come with the typical talking about "US support Georgia, there is oil involved" when the conflict there started since Georgia declared independent after USSR dissolved.

I have no narrow view on the world, I have narrow view on stupidity of others that "think" they know best whats going on by being based on biased media.
And Moscow doesn't support Iran because they Oppose U.S; I think they just do it for the money.

Its pretty known that those separatists from South Ossetia refuse to accept Georgia rule, since they see themselves as part of Russia. That is the reason for the tense and fighting there. Oil could be a also part of it, but only as a minor reason.

Both Russia and Georgia acting like shit in that conflict there. Georgia surrendered and Russia keep attacking. I just don't understand how can you say "Oh its all because U.S want the oil" for everything that happen. Maybe you should blame Russia for wanting the oil now?! It is now they who invaded a country and maybe even try to throw down Georgia current government.

What does Russia selling arms to Iran and North Korea have to do with the situation in S.Ossetia? Not much. It's not like the US doesn't sell weapons to other countries as well.
However the timing and the amount of support shown in the build up to the conflict is significant, wether you want to admit it or not.

Again, i've never said that the US has it's nose in ever conflict around the world, but the US is not squeaky clean by any stretch of the imagination.

Again, i've never said Israel sold weapons to Georgia, but Israeli Military Officials are acting as advisors for the Georgian Military.

More on the Iran issue, which atm is moot, yes Russia supports Iran, hell Russia will support anyone that the US sees as a potential threat, this is all politics, don't forget that.

Its amazing to see how people think everything is around oil. If you don't know the reason for why they are fighting there, please shut up and don't say crap backed up by "experts" who you don't even know their names...

It also isn't by coincidence that the US supply arms to the Georgian army, or that many of the Georgian armys top advisors are Israeli military officials.
Nor is it coincidence that the US held "training" exercises in Tiblisi last month.
Even less of a coincidence is that Saakhashvili was put into power in 2003 with the aid of the CIA.

Is it coincidence that Russia sell weapons to North Korea and Iran, two countries who are radical and one that call to wipe another nation out?

I advice you to read more about why they are fighting over there, and get out of your bubble, that U.S pull the strings behind every conflict in the world.
Israel didn't sell weapons to Georgia (they only sold 4 UAV's from what I know), because Russia probably asked them not to do so. Israel respected Russia and didn't approve the deal (200 tanks were about to be sold). The Russians respect Israel for that. Meanwhile, they keep helping Iran getting new antiaircraft weapons and materials to get nuclear technology.
