Cloakers Ruining TW. Not "Balance"

I suggested this in dameons thread, but I'll repeat it here:
How about, instead of just randomly changing the settings to what some people may think of as balanced, a selection of different settings are made and a poll is set up so players can vote on what settings they want.

Sure, democracy doesn't always work but its a hell of a lot better than whats happening at the moment.

I never said he was alone, I said he isn't in the majority. Personally this change doesn't keep me from playing the ship the way I've always played it, so that isn't my problem. My problem is staff not having the balls to stand up to these sniveling children and tell them "Look, I'm sorry ship six ruins your spawning fun, but there are these cute little arenas called duel, wbduel and elim for faggots like you. Go to them and let the pubbers base in peace."

Thanks for the new settings, guys. Not only have you changed this from a team game to 15 players following 15 different agendas, you've done so with pride, like you actually believe you've done something right for the players. You guys fucking rock. :up:

exactly. But assuming that those registered on the forums are representative of the entire tw population, a forum poll should be reasonably fair. Then again, thats a rather large assumption, seeing as a large majority of twers are casual players who don't play regularly (commonly reffered to as pub newbs etc.) and who knows what they want?
Possibly a bot based voting system would be fair, but you'd need to have the vote open for quite a long time...

Also, Pure Hatred, winning an argument does not involve belittling and assaulting those people who may not agree with you. I, along with many other players were also of the opinion that the weasel was too strong.

well then will happen what IN EVERY DEMOCRACY all over teh world (the usa is no democracy) happens. the ones that are interested in the changes will vote and the ones that give a shit about it wont vote. but all are allowed to vote.

if u want to be sure that everyone knows that there IS a vote and that everyone is allowed to vote u can use the welcome message to trenchwars which says where you can find the poll. is that so complicated or what?
but a voting can be manipulated and stuff coz we have no id-cards and hey- this is the internet (same problem like in the usa).

As you said, this is the internet, and as such IP's and machine ID's can be checked etc. Its not perfect but its not bad either.

And Mythrandir, I'll admit that weasel was quite strong, but is what has been done to it really the answer? Isn't the wb and spiders equally strong? But nothing will be done about the wb, because it is the iconic tw ship with 1 hit kills, and i don't expect anything about it to change anytime now or in the future. Is there any reason weasel cannot become something more than just a ship for cloak to be on? It needs a role in something other than pub, otherwise it will just keep being shunted between settings.

Most of the staff has already proven that they don't care about the players, Myth, so whether you were being sarcastic or not what you said is absolutely true. They're in it for the power. End of story. I'm not even going to try to win an argument with a bunch of nerds, for a couple of reasons.

1) I don't give a rat's ass about the spawning trash that's infesting pubs, and those are the only people I've seen speak out against the Weasels.

2) All these nerds will do is pull a Tone and whine louder than everyone to get their way because this game is their life.

Whatever settings are thrown at me, fine, I can adjust. But a lot of players don't adapt quite as well, and by changing shit around you're just saying "Haha, here's something else we did just to fuck with you!" And in doing so, you've changed pubs from a learning experience into a bunch of arenas full of spawning retards, 90% of whom probably couldn't find their way to the FR without getting lost. Again, congratulations. I'm really fucking proud of you for acting upon the whining when this wasn't even a problem, while ignoring the shit that actually IS a problem. Need an example? Teamkilling Javelins are still running wild. But the supervillain Weasels are gone so everyone's happy, right?
