but thats not win/loss thats kills/deaths. you win elim by being the last one left in.

So far I like the elims. The bots work well with the warping between grids. Now the only problems I there is, are the following:

• I don't like how there is no scorereset after every game. Honestly I don't even know why people would want to brag that they have 17200-7 record!!@! And like lofty said, the person could be getting kills from the top part of arena. I think we can still keep the option available through the bot like !rec or something. It's also too much of a hassle to do !wl, not because of typing it, but when it appears i have to press excape and read and I'll get killed when I check it. It's much easier to look in F2 scoreboard.
• When a new game starts and I enter my freq, other players can join the same freq as me for a bit until the bot says 10 seconds...,. I don't think that should be happening.
• At the end of the game (and I think alot of people have said it already), there is too much spam. I like when it says Winner: Player (Squad) along with the MVP: Player (squad). At least we could keep to a minimum by keeping only: MVP, Best Aim. I don't really care seeing who has the worst aim or worst effort.
• This is what I get when i type !status and I think it would be better if we could get our ratio like K like we're use to (instead of a percent) so mine would be like 1.1. And maybe we could get an Ave. Kill/Death per game.: TWBot1> Kills: 54 Deaths: 49 Ratio: (110.2%) AIM:43.55% CKS:0 BKS:4 CWS:0 BWS:0 I like how it can keep track of Kill streaks tho^-^.

Other than those issues, I like everything else of the elim and hopefully this can get the arena to get more of a boost in players.

also please start warbirds with 200 bounty that way in any ship elim you can tell warbirds from spider/lanc's on radar

also the win ratio dont calculate right its not possible to have a win ratio over 100%

Ok thanks for quote. I didn't make myself clear, let me clarify with a better example.

Assume that I have an 8 kill streak in the last leviathan elim game and won...Then a new game of warbird elim started. If I made another kill and got a mention for a 9 kill streak, it'd show that streak in wb when I got the other 8 kills in the last lev game.

It doesn't reflect the skill of the warbird at the time and is annoying because it's inaccurate, that's why I'd rather see streak reset between rounds.

That makes no sense. If you won last elim and still haven't gotten killed or whatever..why should the streak be reset? It makes it more interesting to not have a limit to potential streak possibilities, so you can continue obtaining it past one elim, if you can.

However, I completely agree that it is too much a hassle not to reset scores after every round. This isn't pub; if people want to see how well someone plays, they can PM the bot for it.

Its not like there's any bragging rights when its could have just been someone feeding off random newbies in the top part of the arena and not in elim anyway and it's still the same shared score. It's part of elim tradition to watch someone explode in a particular round of elim by seeing their ratio in f2, or to laugh at some hider going 2-8 at the moment.

Resetting rank every month is stupid though. Maybe every 3-4 months, similar to Robo Ref; people need to at least have a chance to get to a top position, or keep it.

the statistics that are displayed after each elim are maybe useless. but adding stuff like worst avg kills / best avg kills could be used on the elim top 100 page.

There are a couple of issues worth noting about the current elimbeta now, as I've been observing and making notes:

(Belimbeta) Javs are getting boosts. What is that about? Let's just remove that!

(Elimbeta) Levs get a portal, and a boost, and no reps. Take away the boost, and give 3 (or was it 4) reps?

And now for the biggest issue. The score system.

Now, I'm basically gonna repeat what I've said in this thread that people have ignored. Why don't you just scorereset every game? This way I can conveniently flick through scores in F2, and I wouldn't have to get PMed my record by the bot everytime I die, because I wouldn't know my record unless I got myself killed. Scorereset at start of every game so elim is normal, then whoever wants to know their total kills:deaths in the arena, the bot can record it and you can PM it with !wl and get that information. It just means I don't have to keep PMing the bot with commands just to find the status of a game.

Seriously, nobody cares for your TOTAL record, again like I said in the past, if people want bragging rights, just tell them to type !wl <player> to the bot or something.

Okay. And another thing that bothers me is the amount of information that's coming out of the bot at the end of the game:

There's just simply too much information coming out of the game. Everytime someone wins I'm just annoyed by how much green spam appears. I really don't care who is the worst in the arena, so remove worst effort etc., because people should be competing for the best mentions, not being satisfied to get a mention for the worst mention (e.g. igor thinking he is awesome and doesn't try in elim when he gets "Worst Effort" award).

Winners Ratio, please don't make this a percentage, just make it an ordinary ratio like everyone would probably want.

And yes, I feel passionate about the subject, having asked other people's opinions and many agreeing with me, this does look like the way forward. The current score system in elim makes things complex. This is a 2D spaceship game, it NEEDS to be kept simple.

Good ideas, guys. I do plan on making a scoreboard soon and polishing up the statistics display for better understanding. Now that most of the grunt work is finished and the bot has been released to beta testing I can work on the more refined and complex areas such as rating calculation and .lvz images.

Perhaps make the bot do a periodic update in pub chat every 2-3 minutes by showing a box with a list from top to bottom rec/ratio sorting of who's left and with what scores...if you're going to keep the scores from resetting. Plus pretty much everything Magi said.

I'd say a good portion of people complained about the confusing numbers in the stats box (f2) and how it's difficult to tell who's still playing in the elim or not without getting typekilled. Then there's figuring out your rec after going on a hotstreak cause someone's been spamming your chats and you can't look "up". Probably more of a nuisance than an actual complaint.

It's still a better system and I'm pretty sure people will get used to the change. But is there a possible way to include a display (such as that in the league matches) at the top right displaying Top 10 or so players with the lead in rec (or points) and then beneath that, your own rec? Completely more convenient than looking down in chat and/or pming the bot for your score. That would eliminate a few complaints and almost make this idea perfect. And it. Would. Be. S-I-C-K-N-E-S-S!


Edit: And WTF is up with the end-game stats? I got Best Effort with a 1-5 score being the first one out. On the plus note, I shot one bullet, killed one person, got typekilled the rest of those deaths out and got 100% best aim shooting accuracy. $$.
