thunder's argument (lol): some rule says that you have to wait two ROUNDS of TWL. therefore, exalt is ineligible, if he wouldn't have gone 0-5, thunder probably would've won.

dynasty's argument: some rule says that if a player is given specific approval, then he can play. therefore, exalt is eligible.

so....what it really boils down to is two rules contradicting each other. the only reason thunder's argument is legit is because of the fact that the rule says ROUND instead of WEEK. considering there was like 3 weeks or something between each round, exalt should be eligibile to play. i mean come on, seriously...(such nerds to be able to find one word that makes a difference lOL). and another important thing to think about is what effect did this player have on the game? the player in question went 0-5, so...did this make it harder for thunder to win? fuck no. thunder lost fair and square, get over it.

oh and since we're making comparisons about exalt not having any effect in this game but maybe he had some nice passes, let's compare this to last years twld finals? delectable was able to play because he was given specific permission to by a twl op (also his squad captain LOLZ), even though he was ineligible to play. did this cause them to forfeit? no. did this even call for a rematch? no.

there should be no forfeit NOR no rematch.

The post does say he could not. It was also made before I knew that the TWD hacking and server crash would affect how the waiting period would work on the site, which changed things.

Does that even matter? Who cares how the waiting period worked on the site, the only purpose of that is to make the job easier on staff by realizing who is eligible and who is not. We are specifically telling you he wasn't eligible, and i assume you have eyes and can see that he played in both round one AND round two. Who cares if twl was delayed because the site was hacked? The rules say one ROUND which completely overshadows all that happened.

TWL ops gave exalt permission to play. as stated in the rule doc previously posted wish says if a player that is thought to be ineligable is made eligable by twl ops then that players is not in breach of the rules and no forfeit or replay shud be given.

From what Ive learnt so far by speaking to people involved, Dynasty enquired an hour before the match whether Exalt was eligible.

Did staff know he played the previous round or not when making the decision? - yet to be answered.

First off, vt bro, the whole 'YO If I don't get things the way I like them I'm boycotting/pulling my squad out of the 'league'' (as you keep calling it) is getting really old. It makes you look like quite the ungrateful little shit, as you aren't doing anything to help, you just insult the people doing all the work and make empty threats. As per my previous/early posts. Yeah, I got mad at Thunder. A group of chill guys, the circumstances, we all know how this looks. Lame, cheap, and low.
So instead of going off on my normal forum tangent of essay posts - which I'll prolly have to do anyway - I went ingame and found Ease. I never thought the guy would care so much about an early season loss to pull this - his was the only name on the appeal I couldn't believe. Talked to the guy for a bit, and he seriously just wants the rules followed to the letter. It isnt about the loss, he just wants shit to run right. I can respect that.

I still didn't say I thought it was cool. Sure, I bet they might not of said anything had they won, but would anyone? Hard to use an arguement anyone would in the right situation. Honestly I really don't know where to stand on this, I don't mind admitting I'm on the fence. Part of me thinks the game should just be left alone, good game, you didn't have a huge effect on the win, no one was quite literally cheating - yeah it's a technicality.

Here's where it gets messy, Thunder is still right. A rule was broken, you can argue until you're blue in the face and it won't change the wording. 1 round. Not week, not days, not games, one ROUND. I admit, I think it's lame/low etc. You were on there long enough if you just shrug your shoulders about it - but if we want to stay hardcore lockdown about following the rules, they have a case. I've come to the conclusion that I can't really pick a side.

Lay off on the 'asskissing' I kick it as often as I kiss it, and you know that. I'm a person that doesn't know what moderation means, and anyone who knows me can back that up. I go one way, I go all the way. I just can't decide where to go on this. Both arguements have decent points and can be considered valid - you could say yours Exalt, is the street arguement, how it goes down on the street deal. In the trenches brah. You can say Thunder's is the legit, Cop opening up his fucking lawbook or whatever and saying this is how it is.

If you talked to Ease, we had two different conversations. Maybe yours was just later and he lost interest in this whole thing. I know when I talked to him, it wasn't about the loss, it was about the pascone bullshit last year, and him wanting the rules to be followed to the T. As I said before I can respect that, because I could catch myself arguing on either side of this if I was involved.

This is because I did not feel like talking to you. If you were a captain you would find ways to avoid annoying situations too. For example if someone I recruit is hated by someone, I just tell them that Underground made the recruit. I'm sure others in similar situations can understand this.

We definitely would if it were previous seasons. The 50-0 score attached to forfeit wins no longer matters in league play, as there is now a head-to-head scenario. If we had won and appealed the 50-0 wouldn't even matter, so you're right, we wouldn't have appealed because it would be pointless. However, we probably would make comments on how staff can't follow their own rules and take that into consideration.

Trenchwars is not the NFL, there is no free play after a penalty at the line of scrimmage. You guy basically tried to cheat your way out of things using a rule technicallity in a list of rules that were not written by lawyers but by normal people who have other things going on in their lives. Mistakes happen. Get over it. This is not a courtroom nor is this a football field.

You will lose your appeal, because you did everything wrong and for the specific purpose to ABUSE the rules, while my squad did everything the right way with the specific purpose to FOLLOW them.

without even reading any of the talk in this thread, thunder is right. somebody dropped the ball, i am assuming after the DB crash and TWD hacking, and allowed exalt onto a roster without enforcing the waiting period. whoever gave permission for him to play fucked up and whoever allowed this to happen fucked up, and whoever disagrees with the simple fact that the 1 ROUND waiting period was not enforced is a retard. i am completely unbiased here because TWLD means jack shit to me, and if anything i have a natural hate for thunder, but they have a legitimate case. someone in staff fucked up, and i don't blame the ref because they are just taught to check to make sure who all is rostered. as for anyone's "he waited two weeks excuse" if its out there...thats good and dandy but i clearly states a round. thunder should be rewarded with at least a replay of this contest, even though the rules do state a forfeit for ineligible players being added. in essence staff fucked up and thunder paid the price (even though exalt was an ancillary player at the most based upon his rec).

How am I trying to abuse the rules? I'm trying to FOLLOW them. You were abusing the rules when you knowingly played the game despite being aware of what the rule said. You just took advantage of the referees lack of knowledge. Also, how am I digging myself into a hole? I've already stated that I don't give a fuck about what you think of me.
